Egg Donation Program - for the Recipient
An alternative and effective method of conceiving for your
family.
Candidates for this approach have advanced ovarian age, elevated
FSH, multiple failed IVF attempts, or premature ovarian failure.
Pacific Reproductive Center's egg donation program locates and screens
donors who can provide healthy eggs for women unable to conceive using
their own eggs. The egg donation process involves the use of retrieved
eggs from our carefully selected donor pool. Your husband's sperm
fertilizes the donor's eggs and the resulting embryos are implanted
into and later delivered by you, the recipient.
Egg donation offers many advantages over alternatives such as
adoption:
- The characteristics of your donor are selected by you to provide
an approximate match to your own characteristics.
- The fetus is grown and nurtured in an environment you know and
trust (your own body!).
- The success rate per retrieval is very high (over 50% delivery
rate).
- You have the opportunity to create a life.
- There are often extra embryos that may be used to create a
second child in the years to come.
June Kunin, RN, our clinical coordinator, will plan and manage this
process to help make it a positive and effective experience.
We know the decision to use donor eggs can be an emotionally
difficult decision to make. Pacific Reproductive Center understands
how to work closely with you and your donor to prepare you for a
successful implant and pregnancy. Please feel welcome to contact June
