Testicular
Sperm Extraction (TESE)
This is a simple procedure, using local anesthesia, which involves
the removal of a small amount of testicular tissue by the urologist.
Viable sperm can be isolated and then used for ICSI.
Indicated for men with no sperm in the ejaculate due to vasectomy,
failed vasectomy reversal, blockage or obstruction of the sperm duct,
varicocele, and congenital absence of vas deferens.
The technique is relatively simple. The patient is able to return
to work either the same day or the following day without significant
risk of complications.
At PRC, currently we have pregnancy rates over 60% with TESE. |
